Alec graduated from Carleton University with a Commerce degree, expecting it to pave the way for numerous opportunities. However, after five years of exploring various paths in search of a career, he concluded that entrepreneurship might be his true calling. In 1995, with no savings and bleak prospects, he and a close friend pooled together $10,000 to launch their maiden business venture. Fast forward over two decades, Alec boasts over a dozen successful startups spanning diverse industries, amassing a combined revenue surpassing a billion dollars.
His driving force remains his passion for decision-making. While his aversion to the phrase “I don’t know” led to some daring yet occasionally misguided professional moves, his overall fearlessness has been a cornerstone of his success. Alec fervently champions the protection of small businesses against the relentless assaults from corporate giants worldwide, advocating tirelessly on their behalf. He and his family revel in outdoor activities and shares his life between Ottawa, Canada, and Tivat, Montenegro, with his wife, Anne.
